Industrial action on the Belgian rail network on 24 November, 1 December, 8 December and 15 December

Due to announced industrial action in Belgium, we are expecting severe disruption to rail services on Monday 24 November1 December, 8 December and 15 December.

The impact of these actions on national and international services is not known at this moment. However, train companies have already announced the following measures:

Thalys

·         Travelers can exchange their Thalys tickets, valid for the period of strike without cost. The exchanges are possible until 17/12/2014, for original departures on impacted trains.

·         Tickets for a travel date within the period of strike can be refunded without charge regardless of the purchased fare (this also applies to entire bookings containing at least on ticket for a travel date within the period of strike).
 

Eurostar

·         All Eurostar tickets for travel within the period of the strike can be refunded or exchanged for earlier or later travel dates (within an 120 day period) provided the request is made within 60 days. Refunds and exchanges will be free of charge.
 

TGV® Brussels-France 

·         Travelers can use their original TGV® tickets, valid from 7/12/2014 8pm to 8/12/2014 8pm and from 14/12/2014 8pm to 15/12/2014 8pm, on any other TGV® train on the same route on the day before, the same day or the day after the strike without extra costs (but without seat guarantee). Travelers who prefer to change their ticket for another travel date (with seat guarantee) can be refunded free of charge (regardless of the purchased fare) and buy a new ticket depending on availability.

·         Tickets for a travel date within the period of strike can be refunded without charge regardless of the purchased fare (this also applies to entire bookings containing at least on ticket for a travel date within the period of strike).
 

ICE

·         Travelers can exchange their ICE tickets, valid from 7/12/2014, 8pm to 8/12/2014, 8pm and from 14/12/2014, 8pm to 15/12/2014, 8pm. They will receive a "missed connection" ticket (valid together with their original ticket, that will be marked as "exchanged").

·         Tickets for a travel date within the period of strike can be refunded without charge regardless of the purchased fare (this also applies to entire bookings containing at least on ticket for a travel date within the period of strike).
