National Strike 24 June: possible impact for passengers

Socialist trade unions have called for a strike today, Friday 24 June.

Public transport

Rail and bus services to and from Brussels Airport by NMBS, De Lijn and MIVB are likely to be disrupted from Thursday 23 June 10 pm to Friday 24 June 10pm. Passengers are recommended to leave for the airport well ahead of their scheduled departure time or to look for alternatives.

Luggage handling

Passengers taking a flight to or from Brussels Airport might experience problems. Luggage handling might be disrupted.

Some tips:

  • Check in online if your airline offers this option
  • If possible take only hand luggage. Respect the restrictions regarding dimensions and weight stipulated by your airline
  • Respect the security regulations that apply to hand luggage. Check in advance what is or isn't allowed on board: liquids and gels, dangerous items, baby food, medication ...
  • If you do travel with hold luggage: keep important items in your hand luggage: travel documents, medication, house keys, money, jewellery...

What to do when your luggage is missing?
